Encaustic Demonstration

I was asked to give a demonstration of encaustic painting at the Creative Arts Guild in Dalton. Types of equipment, brushes, waxes, and substrates were discussed. It was a very enjoyable evening.

Far To Go

Another acrylic painting in my distant landscape series. 20 x 20.

Meandering Stream

Here is a new mixed media painting that is now hanging in the gallery. It is 36 x 48 (I think). I used a combination of watercolor, acrylic and coffee.

New Year, New Paintings

I hope to do much better this year with my blog postings. I was pretty awful in 2010. I guess I was just worn out in the fall with preparations for my encaustic show. It's a new year now, and I'm ready to tackle new painting challenges. I've been working on some palette knife paintings lately. Some will be hanging in the gallery soon.

Heavy Snow

We had a surprise heavy snow so I immediately went out with my camera to capture it. This painting is much larger than my other snow paintings, 16 x 20, and has some acrylic mixed in with the watercolor.

Spring Chicken (?)

Okay, well, he is a rooster. I decided to paint a little something different from my snow scenes. I guess I'm wishing for spring. Won't be much longer.

Blue Skies

When the blue sky finally appeared after the ice storm, the ice on the trees glistened in the sun. It was beautiful.

Ice Storm in Long Branch

This painting was done after our recent ice storm when the trees were covered with beautiful ice crystals.
